These easy DIY personalized hangers will add a personal touch to your getting ready photos and make a fun gift for your bridesmaids.
Also it’s a huge money saver to DIY these and you may already have the supplies on hand.
Supplies you’ll need:
– Wooden hanger(s)
– Name printed on paper
-Tape
– Pencil
-Pen
-Sharpie
Step #1 Print off your name or monogram to put on your hanger from your computer. I used PicMonkey and font Channel for the names.
Step #2 Turn the cut out name over and shade in the back with a pencil. Make sure to cover the full name on the opposite side.
Step #3 Turn the paper back over and tape to your hanger.
Step #4 Trace over the name with a pen.
Step #5 Take the paper off the hanger. You should now have an imprinted outline of the name from the lead rubbing off from the pencil marking on the back of the paper.
Step #6 Fill the outline using the Sharpie. (or you can fill the outline using paint)

Those are super cute! I still have my bridesmaid dress hanging on the hanger my friend got me for her wedding! Super special.
Awesome idea. I would never have thought of that. It’s personal and practical. Thank you for sharing!
Hello! Great job! did you use regular paper as a stencil to trace? how did it show up on the hanger before you went over it in sharpie? or did you just press really hard?
Thanks!
Hi Janeen! I used regular printer paper to trace. Before tracing, shade in the back of the paper with a pencil. After you trace the name you should have an imprinted outline of the name from the lead rubbing off from the pencil marking on the back of the paper. I updated the step by step guide for better instructions. 🙂
That makes so much sense! Thank you so much! Can’t wait to try it!
Hi I was wondering what sized font you used? Thanks!
