If you are looking to save money on Christmas decorations this year, making your own wreath is a great way to save and they are easy to make. You can use any kind of greenery, branches and dried or fake flowers. My greenery is from Michaels. Unfortunately, my step by step photos were erased when my phone died last week but I took closeup pictures to help explain the DIY process.
This DIY wreath project would make a perfect craft night with friends.
Supplies needed for project:
Wreath ring (I bought mine from Michaels, here’s one similar from amazon)
Greenery, Branches or Flowers ( I used 2 stems, one of each, from Michaels)
Floral Wire and Wire Cutters
Decorations/Embellishments (optional) I used bells from HomeGoods
Optional, Spray paint for your wreath ring (I spray painted mine with a cream color to blend in with my greenery)
I used a command strip to hang my wreath on the door.
Step 1: Cut sections of your greenery
Step 2: Place greenery where you would like
Step 3: Wrap greenery securely with wire
Step 4: When adding new sections, make sure to cover the wire completely.
Step 5: Repeat these steps until the wreath is full.
Step 6: Add any other embellishments
Step 7: Trim and secure as necessary.
